Jonny White is a 27 year-old independent filmmaker based in Leeds, UK.

He focuses on creating memorable work that inspires, educates and resonates with audiences.

Jonny graduated with a degree in Film & Television Production from York St John University in 2016,

during which he discovered a passion for telling emotive stories. Stories that evoke a feeling much deeper than just entertainment. Stories that encourage audiences to think beyond face value. 

 

Jonny's short documentary and student film, Trapped in Terror, detailing one man's experiences with sleep paralysis, won a Royal Television Society Student Award in 2017.

Jonny's professional experience stretches across short and feature-length filmmaking, for fictional and documentary. In addition to this, Jonny has worked across multiple sectors including music videos, corporate, marketing campaigns, advertisements and digital artwork. Jonny has had work featured by major digital platforms including Adobe, BOOOOOOOM, Directors Notes, Film Shortage. His short documentary, The Voices of Men, which spotlights the issue of men's mental health, screened at Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2020 as part of the York St John University Showcase, which Jonny was additionally a panellist for. The Voices of Men will be screening as part of the Official Selection for Manchester Film Festival 2021.
